Sunday Style Notes: A Round-Up of Recent Outfits

Good morning and happy Sunday! Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared a handful of looks on Instagram, and while I don’t really do single outfit posts on here anymore, I thought it might be fun to gather them all into one place. Think of this as a mini style diary—part outfit breakdown, part ode to some of my favorite finds. Plus, I can finally answer a few of the questions I’ve been getting about where things are from and how I’ve styled them. Let’s dive in!

The Sixties Two-Piece Suit Moment

One of my absolute favorite outfits lately has been a sixties-inspired two-piece suit that I scored on eBay for just $40. No fancy label, no big designer name—just one of those vintage gems that shows up when you’re patient (and a little obsessive) about scrolling through endless listings. I’ve been waiting for the right occasion to wear it, but in the end, the right occasion turned out to be… Target. Because honestly, when you find something this good, why save it for later?

The suit itself is everything I love about sixties tailoring: sharp, playful, and just structured enough without feeling stuffy. I paired it with a braided western belt I stumbled upon at a thrift store, which gives it a little twist and keeps the look from feeling too polished. Accessories are often where the magic happens, and this outfit is no exception.

The Clutch With a Story

The real star of this look, though, might just be the clutch. It’s a Proenza Schouler PS1 stitch-embroidered clutch that my mom passed down to me a few years ago. She bought it sometime around 2008 or 2009, and it has held up beautifully. I love the PS1 so much that I’ve considered tracking down another one, but sadly, it feels like Proenza has shifted away from that era of design. The PS1s they’re making now don’t quite have the same personality. Honestly, they should bring back the classics—the original really does stand the test of time.

Carrying this clutch always makes me feel a little nostalgic, too. There’s something about wearing a piece with history that adds an extra layer of meaning to an outfit. It’s not just about style—it’s about connection, about the stories woven into what we wear.

The Hunt for the Perfect Oversized Clutch

Since I know how rare truly oversized clutches are, I did a little digging to see what else is out there. Let me tell you, the options are few and far between. Most clutches lean toward the dainty and minimal, which has its place, but when you’re carrying a bag that’s meant to make a statement, it should feel bold and substantial.

After some searching, I managed to find a couple of worthy contenders that capture that same oversized appeal. They’re chic, practical in their own exaggerated way, and just the right mix of fashion-forward and timeless. (I’ll link them for anyone who’s been on the same hunt—it’s a niche market, but when you know, you know!)

Why Vintage Still Wins

This outfit reminded me of why I love vintage shopping so much. It’s not just about scoring something unique—it’s about breathing new life into a piece that already has a story. A sixties suit paired with a 2000s-era clutch, finished with a thrifted belt… there’s something magical about mixing decades, letting old and new speak to each other.

And sometimes, the thrill of the hunt is half the fun. Scrolling through listings, hoping for that rare find in your size, finally clicking “buy” and waiting for the package to arrive—it’s fashion as treasure hunt. When it all comes together, it feels so much more personal than walking out of a store with a brand-new piece.

Pulling this look together was a reminder that fashion doesn’t need a glamorous setting to shine. Whether it’s a Target run or a dinner date, the point is to enjoy what you wear. And if a sixties two-piece suit makes picking up paper towels feel like an event? Even better.

Thank you so much for following along—I’ll be back soon with a few more outfit round-ups. And to anyone out there searching for the perfect oversized clutch, stay strong. The right one is out there waiting.
